I completely agree! The music industry has completely devalued the idea of being an ARTIST and placed all the emphasis on the superficial. I was so disgusted last year when J. Holiday came out with that Bed "song"-->it makes my skin crawl! I teach piano lessons and I asked two of my students (both 7 year old white girls) what their favorite kind of music was. I was surprised to hear both of them respond with "HIP HOP"as their favorite genre. When I asked who their favorite hip hop artist was, one named Chris Brown, and the other FERGIE. Sad! This is what Hip Hop has become to the masses. I too let go of the radio years ago, and even now, I look back on the things I did listen too 5 or 6 years ago and wonder, what was I thinking???
